The short answer
Most small businesses in Singapore pay S$800–5,000 for a professionally built website, plus S$50–350 a month if they want it looked after. Agencies charge S$5,000–30,000+; DIY builders cost a monthly subscription and your own time.
Prices by who builds it
| Who builds it | Small business site (5–10 pages) | Online shop |
|---|---|---|
| DIY builder (Wix, Squarespace, Shopify) | ~S$20–150/month subscription, you do the work | Shopify ~S$39–150/month |
| Overseas freelancer (Fiverr, Upwork) | Often a few hundred dollars | Varies widely |
| Local freelancer | S$500–4,000 (most quotes S$800–2,500) | S$1,500–6,000 |
| Small studio | S$800–5,000 | S$6,000–20,000 |
| Established agency | S$5,000–30,000+ | S$25,000–50,000+ |
Ranges compiled from Singapore agencies' published 2025–26 pricing guides. They are benchmarks, not quotes.
Local freelancers typically charge about S$30–100 an hour, with senior developers up to about S$140.
What pushes the price up or down
Number of pages
A 5-page site and a 30-page site are different jobs. Each page needs layout, content and testing.
Custom design vs template
A template is cheaper but looks like thousands of other sites. Custom design is built around your brand and customers.
Copywriting and photos
If you supply the words and photos, you pay less. Professional copy and photography add cost but usually pay back in enquiries.
Features
Booking, payments (PayNow, cards), customer logins, calculators and databases each add development time.
Online shop size
10 products and 500 products need very different setups, data entry and testing.
Integrations and languages
Connecting to your CRM, accounting or tracking system, or adding Chinese or Malay versions, adds scope.
What you pay after launch
| Cost | Typical price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Domain name | S$20–60 a year | Register it in your own name |
| Hosting | S$0–50 a month | Static sites can be hosted very cheaply |
| Business email | A few dollars per user per month | e.g. Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 |
| Care plan (small site) | S$50–350 a month | Updates, backups, security, small edits |
| Care plan (online shop) | S$300–1,500 a month | More moving parts, more monitoring |
What about the PSG grant?
Some agencies sell pre-approved website packages under the government's Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG). Eligible SMEs can have part of the cost subsidised, so a S$6,000 agency package may cost noticeably less after the grant.
Vendors must be pre-approved, so most freelancers can't offer it. Compare the price after any grant, and check what you're locked into: some packages come with fixed hosting or maintenance terms.
Red flags in a website quote
- No written scope. The quote should list pages, features, revisions and timeline.
- The domain is registered in their name. If you part ways, you could lose your address.
- You can't move your site. Ask whether you can take the files to another host.
- "Unlimited revisions" with no defined scope usually means delays and disputes later.
- No mention of mobile, speed or SEO basics. These should be standard, not extras.
- A very low price with no aftercare. Find out who fixes things when they break.
How my pricing compares
| Package | Starting price | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | from S$1,200 | Shops and solo businesses, up to 5 pages |
| Business | from S$2,400 | Growing SMEs that need quote forms and more pages |
| Premium | from S$4,500 | Larger sites with custom tools and copywriting |
| Custom project | from S$5,000 | Databases, logins, booking and payments, integrations |
Every price is fixed once we agree the scope. You pay 50% to start and 50% when your site is finished, and you see a free homepage preview before paying anything. See what each package includes.
Questions people ask
Is S$500 enough for a business website in Singapore?
It can buy a simple template site from an overseas freelancer or a DIY builder subscription. Expect little or no custom design, copywriting or aftercare. Most local professionals start around S$800–1,500 for a small site.
Why do agencies charge so much more than freelancers?
Agencies carry offices, account managers, sales teams and project managers, and that cost is built into every quote. You also get a bigger team and more capacity, which matters for large or complex projects.
Do I own my website after I pay?
You should. Make sure the domain is registered in your name, and that the quote says you own the design, content and code once the final payment is made.
How long does a small business website take?
Two to three weeks is typical for a 5–10 page site once content is ready. Online shops and custom systems take longer; ask for a written timeline.
Are there monthly fees after launch?
Always budget for a domain (roughly S$20–60 a year) and hosting. A care plan for updates, backups and security is optional, usually S$50–350 a month for a small site.
